2009 ACTORS' FUND TV CHARITY CHALLENGE OPENS WITH $10,800 AIR FARCE DONATION

TORONTO - The Actors' Fund of Canada announced today that, with a donation of 25% of the proceeds of its February 2009 sale of furniture, wardrobe and props, CBC-TV's Royal Canadian Air Farce has kicked off the 2009 Actors' Fund TV Charity Challenge by raising a total of $10,800 for the Fund. The series wrapped at the end of December, 2008.

TORONTO - The Actors' Fund of Canada announced today that CBC-TV's Heartland has won the 2008 Actors' Fund Canadian TV Charity Challenge, raising a total of $11,700 with a community fundraising barbeque, held in October 2008. Runner-up status goes to Shaftesbury's The Listener, with a total of $3,319 raised through an on set raffle. Other participants in the Challenge included The CW's Reaper, CBC-TV's Sophie, and Shaftesbury's Connor Undercover, whose efforts combined with those of the frontrunners to help the Fund realize a total of $16,200 in proceeds from the Challenge.

CALGARY - The cast and crew of CBC-TV's Heartland have made their mark as the first entrants in the 2008 Canadian TV Charity Challenge raising $11,700 for the Actors' Fund of Canada in a fundraising barbeque held on October 5. Three hundred and fifty members of the Calgary film & TV production community and their families attended the barbeque at the Heartland Ranch location, which featured a silent auction and other fundraising events.
