May 27th, 2008 Exactly 50 years to the date of its establishment in 1958, the Actors’ Fund of Canada celebrated its 50th anniversary on May 27th, 2008 at the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre. Members of the Fund's current and former Boards of Directors including: Vanessa Harwood, Sandy Webster, Araby Lockhart, Ken Wickes and Bruce Clayton were joined by some of Canada's most notable celebrities for a special cake-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion. Participating in the ceremonies were: Dinah Christie, Atom Egoyan, Sturla Gunnarsson, Karen Kain, Tom McCamus, Gordon Pinsent, Sonja Smits, R.H. Thomson and Gordon Sim and Kristin Booth.
