Holding an additional performance is a great way to raise money for the Fund. From years of working with theatres we have picked up a few tips on how to have the most successful event possible.

Contact the Fund in advance

Use program inserts

When you contact the Fund we will send you program inserts that thank your theatre and let the audience members know that proceeds from the performance are being donated. They also provide background information on the Fund and the opportunity for audience members to make a pledge donation in order to receive a tax receipt. Generic inserts can be downloaded here.

Communicate

Equity agreements include a provision that actors may rehearse and appear in a performance without remuneration if it is a benefit for the Actors’ Fund of Canada. Please download this letter that explains the purpose of benefits and outlines the provision in the Equity agreement.
